Ioana is an architect turned teacher, researcher, and artist. She holds degrees from world-renown universities such as Cambridge and McGill and has vast experience teaching in academic environments in Canada, UK and Romania. Her research helped with national exhibitions which explored larger topics in energy, transportation and agriculture, as well as the more focused field of domestic technologies, which is one of her specialties besides North American and Eastern European 20th century housing. Ioana is an engaging presenter and a passionate teacher whose motto is “If you’re determined to learn, no one can stop you.” Along with research methods and architectural history courses, she has taught technical and perspective drawing to graduate students, as well as various levels of mathematics to elementary and high-school students as a private tutor. This explains her varied expertise in delivering the courses she is offering for Study Sesh, which are truly interdisciplinary and open to students and teachers alike, particularly those who want to explore concepts in more depth and to make interesting connections between topics.
